if you're using your ranger i suggest pin down and throw dirt with a little whirling defense. cripple him first then add apply poison with burning arrow elite. lots of degen right there. you'll want to stop him from using healing signet so add distracting shot in so it's completely disabled. if he gets too close throw a little dirt or use whirling defense and if he starts hitting you maybe use some running skill to get some distance. umm maybe toxic spirit or favorite wind if you still have space. that's my advice.
o yeah and of course troll ungent to heal yourself.
but here's another build from guild wiki if you like to try. http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Build:R...g_Arrow_Ranger
although since it is a warrior he has to get in close to the farther you keep him away the better.

A Swordsman's Honor...
What part of a "Matter of Honor" did all you guys miss? Their is no honor in beating his warrior with another profession.He could use a necro or a mesmer to beat him, but is that what he really wants to do? Or does he want to be the better warrior?
As for the use of riposte, how do you all get off saying that riposte/deadly riposte in a build is bad? The fact of the matter is that Riposte/Deadly Riposte is the anti melee skill that beats most, if not all melee based attackers. If he wants to beat him at his own game I would recommend this build.
[skill=card]"You're All Alone!"[/skill][skill=card]Deadly Riposte[/skill][skill=card]Flail[/skill][skill=card]Gash[/skill][skill=card]Final Thrust[/skill][skill=card]Wild blow[/skill][skill=card]Lion's Comfort[/skill][skill=card]Distracting Blow[/skill]
Alot of blood will spill, and deep wounds will be obvious,but it will come down to the better warrior, and not a bunch of gimmicks or non warrior skills to beat your rival. Honor will be satisfied when you clash sword to sword at the flag stand.

I was thinking about hammer warrior. obviously adrenal skills arent good, coz ull need to wild blow him most of the time. Wild Blow > Shove > Belly smash > Crushing blow > Thrill of Victory does sound ok to me. He doesnt have condition removal, so hed get blinded, and the deep wound should help for Thrill of Victory which would do some nice dmg. You might have to disrupt the heal sig in some way And dont forget some elemental weapon
might be a load of crap, but still, i dont like riposte, its a sissy warriors skill ;P

Yeah because theres alot of honour to be found in beating a warrior using ripostes... Its on the same level as beating a Mending/HH Wammo. Had a guildy who asked to face him on an assassin, all he had was anti-melee stances and ripostes and he didn't seem to understand that what he was doing was completely pointless... proving that an anti-melee build can defeat an unprepared assassin.

gimmick? and the riposte warrior is 'not' a gimmick build? Telling someone that they 'must' use a melee character against an anti melee build is just ignorant.
If you want to test who is better just equip the exact same build... in fact thats the 'only' way to really tell who is the better swordsman.
...you may just end up standing there waiting for the other guy to trigger your ripostes but..hey.. at least you will have 'honor' ....psh
1v1 is the stupidest thing in Gw anyway. rock paper scissors

anyway, if you really have to kill him, just bring spiteful spirit, insidious parasite, reckless haste, enfeeble, price of failure, and anything that does even minimal damage. You honestly don't have to interrupt something like healing signet, all it does is stop his attacks for 2 seconds while you continue to beat him into the dirt.
